[edit] Welcome!
Hi, and welcome to the Biography WikiProject! As you may have guessed, we're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of biographies.
A few features that you might find helpful:
- The project has a monthly newsletter; it will normally be delivered as a link, but several other formats are available.
There are a variety of interesting things to do within the project; you're free to participate however much—or little—you like:
- Starting some new articles? Our article structure tips outlines some things to include.
- Want to know how good our articles are? The assessment department is working on rating the quality of every biography article in Wikipedia.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask another fellow member, and we'll be happy to help you. Again, welcome! We look forward to seeing you around! plange 00:43, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] JPD's RfA
Thanks, Bugtrio, for your support at my RfA, which finished with a tally of 94/1/0. I hope I live up to the confidence you have shown in me in my activities as an administrator. JPD (talk) 16:12, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Articles you might like to edit, from SuggestBot
SuggestBot predicts that you will enjoy editing some of these articles. Have fun!
SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians. It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. Your contributions make Wikipedia better -- thanks for helping.
If you have feedback on how to make SuggestBot better, please tell me on SuggestBot's talk page. Thanks from ForteTuba, SuggestBot's caretaker.
P.S. You received these suggestions because your name was listed on the SuggestBot request page. If this was in error, sorry about the confusion. -- SuggestBot 12:14, 8 September 2006 (UTC)

Merhaba geçenlerde Türkiye Portalını seçkin portallara aday gösterdim Wikipedia:Featured portal candidates/Portal:Turkey/archive1. Fakat bir Vikiproje Türkiye üyesi dışında kimse oy kullanmadı. Gelen karşıt oylarla kabul edilmemiş oldu. Lütfen oyunuzu kullanın.--Absar 12:20, 6 January 2007 (UTC)

- Mrb. Looks nice but in the main frame, I think the text shouldn't be put between the two photoes, it looks aweful with all the broken, various sized lines...they should be put on one side, bence. :) --Teemeah Gül Bahçesi 19:05, 6 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Selam
Hey, I noticed that you have been working on Turkey Portal, do you need some help? I am sorry that I couldn't look into this earlier, I have been busy with the Turkey article, as well as with some major work to make WikiProject Turkey more functional and general upkeep on Turkey-related pages. The portal needed some work, that's true... Well, kolay gelsin ve mutlu yillar! Baristarim 02:47, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] A very Californian RfA thanks from Luna Santin
Thanks for your support in my not-so-recent RfA, which succeeded with a final tally of (97/4/4)! I've never been able to accept compliments gracefully, and the heavy support from this outstanding community left me at a complete loss for words -- so, a very belated thank you for all of your kind words.
I have done and will continue to do the utmost to serve the community in this new capacity, wherever it may take me, and to set an example others might wish to follow in. With a little luck and a lot of advice, this may be enough. Maybe someday the enwiki admins of the future will look back and say, "Yeah, that guy was an admin." Hopefully then they don't start talking about the explosive ArbComm case I got tied into and oh what a drama that was, but we'll see, won't we? Surely some of you have seen me in action by now; with that in mind, I openly invite and welcome any feedback here or here -- help me become the best editor and sysop I can be.
|
- Thanks for your trust. :) Hopefully you'll be glad to hear I'm still quite active, on the anti-vandalism front. Luna Santin 12:50, 13 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Kobe Bryant revert
Thanks for fixing my error. Red Director 21:21, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Death grunt
I saw your revert on the death grunt article. Just wanted to let you know that the article has been named death grunt for years and there has been no discussion recently about a rename and there certainly wasn't any consensus. Spearhead 22:02, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Last reversion in Chile
Perhaps your last reversion to the article Chile was not valdalism as your edit summary suggests. It may be controversial, but it is of a different nature from the prior reversion which you performed. Please review this change and correct it if necessary. --JAXHERE | Talk 14:38, 27 January 2007 (UTC)
- Your explanation is fine with me. I wasn't aware of the prior problems. --JAXHERE | Talk 14:51, 27 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] American Idol
Would you happen to know what Turkish TV station airs American Idol? The section in American Idol lists it as e2 which goes to a disambiguation page (that doesn't list a TV station). I would like to point the link to the correct station, but List of television stations in Turkey doesn't appear to show an "e2" station either. Hoof Hearted 15:33, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
- Great! I've changed the link in American Idol. Teþekkür! Hoof Hearted 21:17, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Helping out with the Unassessed Wikipedia Biographies
Seeing that you are an active member of the WikiBiography Project, I was wondering if you would help lend a hand in helping us clear out the amount of unassessed articles tagged with {{WPBiography}}. Many of them are of stub and start class, but a few are of B or A caliber. Getting a simple assessment rating can help us start moving many of these biographies to a higher quality article. Thank you! --Ozgod 20:14, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

Congratulations to our 225 new members |
The newsletter is back! Many things have gone on during the past few months, but many things have not. While the assessment drive helped revitalize the assessment department of the project, many other departments have received no attention. Most notably: peer review and our "workgroups". A day long IRC meeting has been planned for October 13th, with the major focus being which areas of the project are "dead", what should our goals be as a project, and how to "revive" the dead areas of our project. Contribute to the discussion on the the new channel (see below) We decided to deliver this newsletter to all project members this month but only those with their names down here will get it delivered in the future. This is your newsletter and you can be involved in the creation of the next issue. Any and all contributions are welcome. Simply let yourself be known to any of the undersigned or post news on the next issue's talk page
Lastly, a new WikiProject Biography channel has been set up on the freenode network: Our thanks to Phoenix 15 for setting it up.
