Nawab Akber Khan Bugti: I agree that people are posting personal opinions on this topic instead of backing it up with facts. However, I would like to contribute to this topic in a factual and systematic manner, regarding the Bugti tribe from partition 1947 (Pakistan) todate. One has to take into account that we are talking about a third world corrupt country, with everyone from a mail man to the president (inclusive of feudals) of the country not having a thread of moral fibre or intregity.

Population figures from 1911, should be changed:

Bugti, a Baluch tribe of Rind origin, numbering about 15,500,..................

It is hard to get accurate stats on the tribal population, but here is a link from November 15, 2001 from CNN that suggests that their population is around 187,000 (this is only in Dera Bugti and not in other areas that they are located):

I will make the changes as follows:

Bugti, a Baluch tribe of Rind origin, estimated to number between 200,000 to 250,000,..................

This seems to be more accurate at the moment.

[edit] Major cleanup needed

I deleted a section and a few passages that clearly constituted opinions and not facts. What's worse is that the opinions were not cited at all. Even though all my sympathies are for the Bugtis, it is a shame that personal opinions are allowed to trickle into an encyclopedia without any references.

There were references to an alleged rape that was stated as if it were a fact. While it may be so, the twist to the story was clear from the language. Further, I deleted a sentence touting the "racial magnificence" of the Bugtis. What a shame to be doing so in such a forum as Wikipedia.

Bugits are honorable people. This article has been vandalized by coward Punjabis. Punjabis are slave minded people and it is really hard for them to see people who can stand up for their principles. Punjabis on the other hand are rats who don't have a history they can be proud of. It took the "leaders" of Punjabis like Ch. Shujat, Sheikh Rashid etc. about 13 minutes to switch sides from their Godfather Nawaz Sharif to Pak Army when the Army took over control of Pakistan in 1999.
