[edit] History
Bugti Militia played a vital role in the Baluchistan's Insurgence history. Bugti Militia did not took part in the 1948 insurgence. The Nawab Bugti was favour of Independence of Pakistan but 1950s onwards Bugti Militia took high led in the insurgence because he believe that Balochistan was not given its share of autonomy. They also supported other militia groups in the region. Militia did not took part fully in 1970s insurgency. The main reason was their leader Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti was not happy with National Awami Party leaders which turn Nawab Akbar Bugti on the government side. Some official said that Nawab Bugti demanded to Mir Ghaus Bakhsh Bizenjo and Sardar Attaullah Mengal that he should be the Governor of Balochistan but Sardar Attaullah Mengal and Mir Ghaus Bakhsh Bizenjo did not agreed with Nawab Bugtis demands which made him to join government side. This licked many secrets of insurgence plains in Balochistan. It was 2004 Bugti Militia and Balochistan Liberation Army started fighting with government forces once again for Baloch people rights and greater autonomy, but not independence as other Balochis had agitated for in the 1970's. In this War Bugti Militia paid heavy price which was Nawab Bugtis killing on August 26, 2006 by Pakistani Air Force and Army. After the death of Akbar Khan Bugti, the Militia's commander of chief is Brahamdagh Khan Bugti, Akbar Khan Bugti's grandson and the commander of operations is Wadera Alam Khan Bugti.
