The Buffalo Gladiators are a semi-pro American football team based out of Buffalo, NY. They play in the Northeastern Football Alliance, formerly the New York Amateur Football League.
The Gladiators, as well as much of the rest of the NYAFL, were former members of the Mid Continental Football League until that league contracted into the midwest.
The team is led by longtime quarterback and head coach John Augustine.
The team plays at John B. Wiley Field at the former site of Buffalo War Memorial Stadium. The team has had several homes in its history, mostly high school stadiums in the area, even as far south as Salamanca, New York in one year when the team could not find a field in the Buffalo suburbs. Try-It Distributing owns the franchise.
The Gladiators have won more league titles than all of the other NYAFL teams combined, winning six titles in the first nine seasons of the league. They are one of the league's premier teams, along with the Syracuse Shock.
