Buena High School is a comprehensive public high school in Ventura, California. It is part of the Ventura Unified School District and serves most of the eastern portion of Ventura. The western portion of Ventura is served by rival school Ventura High School, and in between them is Foothill Technology High School, which is considered a "magnet school" and has an enrollment of 938 students. Buena High School has an enrollment of 2,312 students, while Ventura High School has an enrollment of 2,123 students. Buena High's most famous student was Kevin Costner. The drama department at Buena attracts a great number of its students; previous productions include The Nightmare Before Christmas (2004), The Breakfast Club (2005), Moulin Rouge! (2007) and To Kill A Mockingbird (2007).
