Bud Sparhawk is a minor science fiction writer whose career extends from 1975, when his first story appeared in Analog SF&F, to today. He has been a finalist for the Nebula three times (1998, 2001, 2005) for novellas published in Analog. He has frequently appeared in Analog's Reader's Choice Award lists. His stories and articles have also appeared in other magazines and anthologies.
To date Sparhawk has published fifty short stories, two collections, and no novels that have sold. Most of his works are available from Fictionwise or any on-line bookseller. A complete bibliography and other material can be found on his website at [1].
Bud Sparhawk was born in 1937 in Baltimore Maryland and now resides in Annapolis. He was married in 1959 (and remains so today) to Janice Lowder Sparhawk. They have three adult children. He received a BS in Mathematics from the University of Maryland in 1959 and a Masters of Business Administration from Oklahoma City University in 1979. He was an oficer in the US Air Force from 1962 to 1977 and, as a civilian, has served in a variety of corporate positions.
