This category is now regarded as "very large". It seems to me that there are a lot of possibly spurious pages in this category, of the same sort that I removed from List of Buddhists. So, part of the solution for the overcrowding problem is to go through and remove articles that don't provide encyclopedic citations for the fact that the person in question is a Buddhist. I'm getting started on the A's.—Nat Krause(Talk!) 19:28, 2 July 2006 (UTC)

It is pointless to list every person from predominantly buddhist countries in this category. It should only hold people where their being buddhists has any actual relevance to why they are mentioned in an encyclopedia in the first place. --Latebird 18:54, 2 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Category "Women Buddhists" Moved to "Buddhists"

I just noticed that the category "Women Buddhists" was removed from wikipedia. User:Cydebot's 2 January 2007 edit to the Mahapajapati Gotami page mentions a discussion about deleting this category. But, the CFD discussion doesn't seem to exist on the link (Wikipedia:Categories for deletion/Log/2006 December 26), though other discussions were archived there. Nor do I see any of them moved to Category:Buddist nuns. Can anyone show us where the discussion took place? Thanks. Deebki 07:03, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
