Budweiser Pole Award

In NASCAR, the Budweiser Pole Award is given to the fastest qualifier in each points paying race. It also allows them to enter in the Budweiser Shootout at Daytona. The Bud Pole Award is not given at events where Bud Pole Qualifying is rained out and the line-up is determined by points.
Eligible drivers for the Budweiser Shootout at Daytona include:
a.) past winners of the race currently active in the Sprint Cup Series and
b.) all drivers who win a Budweiser Pole Award during the Sprint Cup season.
The driver -- not the team -- qualifies for the Shootout, so some eligible drivers may choose to retire rather than compete and some drivers are certain to begin the season with a different team.
