re: practical joke

Thanks for the laugh. ^_^ Devious. I also have a question about warning templates, you are one of many editors I've seen lately using vandalism warning templates that are very different from the ones on the WP:vandalism page. Where did you find them? Are they admin-only or something? -Kasreyn 04:48, 24 February 2006 (UTC)

Hehe, yeah. That practical joke rocks. :) And about the templates, I used to have self-created warning templates because I was bored with the default ones, but I've since changed back due to some formatting errors on mine. However, I still use {{final warning}} quite often, simply because it looks cooler. And no, I wouldn't know anything about admin-only things because I'm not an admin (although I'd love to be one, to fight vandals more efficiently). --Buchanan-Hermit™..CONTRIBS..SPEAK!. 04:55, 24 February 2006 (UTC)
Did you get that on www.Yikers.com?Akupta321 05:23, 18 March 2006 (UTC)

User talk:80.249.52.138

Hi there! I just wanted to talk to you about this IP address, and the amount of vandalism that it has (unfortunately) been doing. I'm a pupil at the school in question, and it saddens me to see this kind of behaviour against Wikipedia going on.

Since you appear to be a well-respected community member (and somebody who looks like a great candidate for the mop), I'd like to point you in the direction of a few websites and email addresses; the school website, the email address of the reception, and the email address of the system administrator. Feel free to send emails about the vandalism that has been going on, as it's very easy for them to find out who did it and punish them accordingly. If action is taken against the IP address by an admin, I'll let them know of these addresses too.

Thanks for your time, and I'm sorry that your time has been used up dealing with petty vandalism... -- gtdp (T)/(C) 16:35, 28 February 2006 (UTC)

Suicide

Hi, I noticed you made some edits to the suicide article. I've created a sample layout in an effort to improve the page. I would appreciate your comments to my proposal. If you're too busy with other stuff, don't worry about it. :) Gflores Talk 21:31, 2 March 2006 (UTC)

VST

Hey - I expanded the CST article and removed the stubs. Was that very wrong of me? I figured that if I had de-stubbified the article, it no longer needed to be a part of the WikiProject. Fishhead64 17:43, 8 March 2006 (UTC)

Nah, that was fine, now that it has enough info to be considered a "real" article. I started the article not knowing much about VST at all (besides the location and the fact that I pass by it on campus daily), so it's good that you expanded on it. Good job. And don't worry about the WikiProject thing -- it's already mentioned in the discussion page. Thanks. :) --Buchanan-Hermit™..CONTRIBS..SPEAK! 17:50, 8 March 2006 (UTC)
Boyd St. in New West? Or Boyd Secondary in Rmd? I'm a "floater" priest (I know that imagery is somewhat difficult), so I travel thither and yon. Some places more thithier and yonner than others. This Sunday I'll be at St. Edward's, Bridgeport, presiding at Matins, if you want to check out my homiletics. Fishhead64 19:41, 8 March 2006 (UTC)

Fair use image in signature

Hello, in the past you have used a fair use image in your signature. This is a violation of the fair use criteria:

Fair use images should only be used in the article namespace. Used outside article space, they are often enough not covered under the fair use doctrine. They should never be used on templates (including stub templates and navigation boxes) or on user pages. They should be linked, not inlined, from talk pages when they are the topic of discussion. This is because it is the policy of the Wikimedia Foundation to allow an unfree image only if no free alternative exists and only if it significantly improves the article it is included on. All other uses, even if legal under the fair use clauses of copyright law, should be avoided to keep the use of unfree images to a minimum. Exceptions can be made on a case-by-case basis if there is a broad consensus that doing so is necessary to the goal of creating a free encyclopedia (like the templates used as part of the Main Page).

I will remove that image from all your previous posts. If you disagree, contact me. Thank you. Mushroom (Talk) 17:51, 8 March 2006 (UTC)

Ottawa Senators

Thanks for fixing my mistake, I was trying to edit out the players salaries in the 'current roster' section & I accidently erased the Senators lower half of the page (everything below Ray Emery). So again ,I offer my appreciation and heartfelt thanks. GoodDay 18:06, 10 March 2006 (UTC)

You're welcome. Although it startled me at first because I thought half the Senators team was traded on the deadline or something... ;) Buchanan-Hermit™..CONTRIBS..SPEAK! 18:15, 10 March 2006 (UTC)

Re: Schools NavBox

Good job on it. Looks like it took forever to do. :) Buchanan-Hermit™..CONTRIBS..SPEAK! 06:49, 11 March 2006 (UTC)

Thanks. I have been very busy for a while, and felt bad for not having contributed anything to the project . I am going to try to create my school (Point Grey) next, and hopefully work on the Port of Vancouver page. Canuck89 06:52, 11 March 2006 (UTC)
Well, it's not like a lot of other people contributed that much either, so you're on pace more or less :) ...and I'd love to see your Pt. Grey article (I usually pass by it on the 41 bus to UBC and have always wondered about the school). You probably already know, but I snapped a semi-crappy cell phone photo for use, available on the WikiProject page. You don't have to use it, but it's there if you do decide to. (On an interesting note, they were filming a movie there when I took that photo -- a short film called "Educated Guess.") Buchanan-Hermit™..CONTRIBS..SPEAK! 06:56, 11 March 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, there have been many films and a few TV series filmed at Point Grey. I remember turning on the TV while on Vacation in Mexico, and seeing my school as the setting for the movie. By the way, how did you get your reply to post on my page and YOUR page at the same time? Canuck89 06:59, 11 March 2006 (UTC)
I work as a film extra part-time too, and it's neat when they film at schools. You get to brag to any friends attending that school :D ... as for replies on both pages, three words: Copy and paste. ;) Buchanan-Hermit™..CONTRIBS..SPEAK! 07:02, 11 March 2006 (UTC)
Copy/Paste, eh? Well, thanks anyways. :-) Canuck89 07:05, 11 March 2006 (UTC)

Bentall

Go ahead and merge all of those Bentall towers. They certainly belong in one article. Canuck89 19:13, 12 March 2006 (UTC)

Alright...But I'm not completely sure: are they collectively known as "Bentall Centre" or is it something else, like Bentall Towers? Do you know, by any chance? --Buchanan-Hermit™..CONTRIBS..SPEAK! 20:18, 12 March 2006 (UTC)
Definetly Bentall Centre. http://one.bentallcentre.com/bentall/about/about.chml Canuck89 20:25, 12 March 2006 (UTC)
Okay, I'll see what I can do then... Bentall Centre is already taken so it will need a disambig. name... --Buchanan-Hermit™..CONTRIBS..SPEAK! 20:30, 12 March 2006 (UTC)
Or maybe not... it was earlier. Or maybe I'm not awake yet... --Buchanan-Hermit™..CONTRIBS..SPEAK! 20:32, 12 March 2006 (UTC)
Alright, it's now at Bentall Centre (Vancouver). Apparently, Bentall centre is taken by a UK structure so that'll need to be fixed. I'll get to it soon. --Buchanan-Hermit™..CONTRIBS..SPEAK! 20:50, 12 March 2006 (UTC)

I love your new user page design. :) Cheers, Sango123 (e) 04:48, 18 March 2006 (UTC)

Wow, my userpage is actually on someone's watchlist? I'm surprised, in a good way. Thanks for the compliment. (Sure looks a lot neater and cleaner than the old one!) --Buchanan-Hermit™..CONTRIBS..SPEAK! 04:50, 18 March 2006 (UTC)

Welcome to Esperanza

Welcome, Buchanan-Hermit/Archive 2, to Esperanza, the Wikipedia member association! As you might know, all the Esperanzians share one important goal: the success of this encyclopedia. Within that, we then attempt to strengthen the community bonds, and be the "approachable" side of the project. All of our ideals are held in the Charter, the governing document of the association.

Now that you are a member, you might be interested in some of our programs. A quite important program is the StressUnit, which seeks to support editors who have encountered any stress from their Wikipedia events, and are seeking to leave the project. So far, Esperanza can be credited with the support and retention of several users. We have a calendar of special events, member birthdays, and other holidays that you can add to and follow.

In addition to these projects, several more missions of Esperanza are in development, and are currently being created at Esperanza/Possibles.

I encourage you to take an active voice in the running of Esperanza. We have a small government system, headed by our Administrator general, Celestianpower, and guided by the Advisory Committee , KnowledgeOfSelf, JoanneB, Titoxd and FireFox. The elections have ended.

If you have any other questions, concerns, comments, or general ideas, Esperanzian or otherwise, know that you can always contact me via email or talk page. Alternatively, you could communicate with fellow users via our IRC channel, #wikipedia-esperanza (which is also good for a fun chat or two :). I thank you for joining Esperanza, and look forward to working with you in making Wikipedia a better place to be!

Thanks! -M o P 05:13, 18 March 2006 (UTC)

I would also like to welcome you. - Image:Ottawa flag.png nathanrdotcom (TCW) 05:28, 18 March 2006 (UTC)
