[edit] Reorganization
Bucyrus City Schools is undergoing a $39 million reconstruction program which will consolidate the district into two school buildings by December 2009. To facilitate this, Bucyrus Middle School was recently split into two, with 5th and 6th grades at the former Kearsley Elementary School building and 7th and 8th grades at the former Norton Elementary School building. After construction, Bucyrus City Schools will be comprised of only two schools; all elementary school students through 5th grade will attend class in the current Middle School building, while 6th through 12th graders will attend class in an expanded Bucyrus Junior/Senior High School.
