Buckland, Devon
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Buckland is an area in suburban Newton Abbot, Devon. It has one primary school called Milber Primary school which is well known for producing the golden generation of players in the late 1990's. Such players as Ross Green, Chris Davey and Aaron Cooke came through the ranks and they will always be remembered in the world of sport.
Also called "Buckland Monachorum", it is a small village, in a valley, 4 miles S. by E. of Tavistock.
Buckland's latter part of its name derives from its monastery, and is sometimes known as Buckland Drake (from the famous Drake family, who have owned the manor since the time of Elizabeth's reign).
