Buckingham School is a co-educational secondary school in Buckingham, Buckinghamshire, United Kingdom.
It is a community school, which takes children from the age of 11 through to the age of 18. The school has approximately 1000 pupils.[1]
In September 2004 the Department for Education and Skills (DfES) designated the school as a specialist Sports College.[2] The school also holds Investors in People status.
The school has four houses, which are named after famous sporting venues. They are Lords, Silverstone, Twickenham and Wembley.[3]
Following several poor inspections by Ofsted, the school is to be placed into Special measures. The Headteacher Christine Jones has resigned and Peter Rowe, Headteacher of Princes Risborough School will be on secondment to the school whilst a new headteacher is recruited[4]. Peter Rowe was brought into Princes Risborough School after an unsatisfactory inspection in 2004.
