[edit] November 2001 Inspection
The November 2001 inspection report[3] identified the following notable features:
- The school had very good links with parents and the local community. It effectively involved parents in the education of their children.
- Overall, the school provided a good and improving quality of education. Pupils’ attainment was being improved significantly as they progressed through the school, and by S4 they now achieved standards broadly in line with the national average. The school had recognised the need to improve attainment still further, particularly in S1/S2, and had a clear commitment so to do.
[edit] Examination results
In each year 2003-2006 the percentage of pupils gaining five or more Standard Certificates was 7-9% above the national average but the percentage gaining Highers was well below the national average.[1]
[edit] Tanzania partnership
Buckie High School has had a partnership with Mawenzi School in Moshi, Tanzania since 1987. This has included visits and curriculum enhancements.[4]
[edit] Sports facilities
On the high school site there is a pool and leisure complex, and extensive sports facilities.
