In the state legislature Buckhorn is located in the 19th Senate District, represented by Republican Tom McClintock, and in the 37th Assembly District, represented by Republican Audra Strickland. Federally, Buckhorn is located in California's 24th congressional district, which has a Cook PVI of R +5[1] and is represented by Republican Elton Gallegly.
