Buchans is a town located in the central part of the island of Newfoundland in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. It is situated on the shore of Lake Buchans in Census Division No. 6, 72 kilometres from the Trans-Canada Highway at the terminus of Route 370. According to Statistics Canada, it had a population of 877 in 2001, with 443 private dwellings. The town was incorporated in 1979. Its current mayor is Derm Corbett.
