[edit] Geographical features, area and population

The only landlocked district in the Republic of Nauru, it is in the southwestern part of the island, and covers the central Buada Lagoon (which is considered to be one of the most beautiful and romantic places in Nauru). It covers an area of 2.6 km² and has a population of 980.

It returns two members to the Parliament of Nauru in Yaren.

[edit] Vegetation

Buada has retained relatively more vegetation than other districts, where, because of mining, much vegetation has been lost.
