If you would be so kind enough to let it stay here at wikipedia for illustration purposes. I have formally asked a permission from the owner of these images and in which I was also given permission to edit it.

Hello. Thanks for contributing to the 'pedia and getting permission to use the images. Unfortunately Wikipedia cannot accept images that are for Wikipedia use only, or are for non-commercial use only. (This seems counter-intuitive, but that's the way it is.) Hi there. Congrats for launching the WP:Fishing. I thought I would never see this proposal ever realized. Anyway, I think WP:FISH can be considered as another parent project of this one as it is a parent project of WP:AQF which covers the fishkeeping hobby. Seems like a similar scope. You can redirect a page to another by using the redirect command. It's another icon near your signature icon when you edit a page. To give you some example, the page WP:FISHING now redirects to "Wikipedia:Do you ever go fishing?". --Melanochromis 08:03, 20 April 2007 (UTC)

  • I am experimenting with a new layout for easy readability, as well as to make the newsletter look more attractive and more like other ones. If someone feels it could be better, go right ahead and change it. The newsletter page is right here.
  • An assessment department has been set up. To find out how to assess an article, go to the assessment page.
  • I have asked Snowolf if his bot could help in tagging articles. The response is still pending, but hopefully we will soon have more of an idea of how many articles we have.
  • During the two months since the last newsletter, Annika Sorenstam has reached good article status. Congratulations to all who worked on this article.
  • There has been a recent peer review for Jack Nicklaus. Please help by following the suggestions that are shown here.
  • A new sidebar has been created. If you think it could be improved, go here.

Bu b0y2007 -- I note you are from Baguio City. I spent 1980-83 at Clark AB in Angeles City. Have spent many days in Baguio-A great mountain city. My fishing experiences in the PI were mostly saltwater. We'd take Banca boats off the beaches and fish for anything that would bite. I remember catching lots of Snapper. My favorite places were the Capones Islands off San Miquel, Hundred Islands and off the beaches of Bauang, La Union. I really enjoyed my time the Philippines.

Maintaining a separate "References" section in addition to "Notes" It can be helpful when footnotes are used that a separate "References" section also be maintained, in which the sources that were used are listed in alphabetical order. With articles that have lots of footnotes, it can become hard to see after a while exactly which sources have been used, particularly when the footnotes also contain explanatory text. A References section, which lists citations in alphabetical order, helps readers to see at a glance the quality of the references used.

This image or media will be removed per statement number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media will be replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. The image that was replaced will not be automatically deleted, but it could be deleted at a later date. Articles using the same image should not be affected by my edits. I ask you to please not readd the image to your userpage and could consider finding a replacement image licensed under either the Creative Commons or GFDL license or released to the public domain. Welcome
Since this is the first issue of the WP:SCUBA Newsletter, I wanted to take a moment to welcome you as a charter member. We are starting a project with the goal of organizing an enormous amount of information, but as participation in WP:SCUBA expands, so will our editing power through collaboration. Please feel free to invite other interested Wikipedians to join our project.
Categorization of WP:SCUBA Articles
I believe that we need to adopt a categorization system to begin organizing these articles. Some categories exist, such as Category:Diving equipment, and can be utilized. The end goal should be to have a set of general categories (less than ten I would hope) that can be used to categorize ALL articles that fall under the scope of this project. Subcategories can then be utilized where needed. This will also help us identify where work needs to be done to further the WikiProject as a whole. Please post comments at the bottom of this page and let me know what you think.
Article Rating for WP:SCUBA
As you are hopefully aware, we place the {{WPSCUBA}} template on the talk page of any article that falls within the scope of WP:SCUBA. It is a standard practice to use the Project Template to rate articles as stub, start, B, GA, A, etc. I invite you to research what is involved in setting up a rating and reporting system for WP:SCUBA as we currently do not rate our articles. This will help us identify the most important articles to our cause, and easily see which articles need the most work. Please feel free to post any questions on my talk page.
YMCA SCUBA
It has been my personal goal to start creating articles to cover all of the major scuba diver certification agencies, and categorize them as Category:Diver training agency. On the List of diver training organizations YMCA SCUBA links to YMCA (diving organization), which then redirects to YMCA. The problem is that the YMCA article doesn't discuss their recreational diving program anywhere. I would like to start a separate YMCA Scuba article using the information on their Official Site, and fix the redirect at YMCA (diving organization) to point to the new article. I invite you to post your thoughts and opinions on these actions on my talk page.

I'd like to bring to your attention that the article Annotated Bibliography of Fly Fishing has been nominated for deletion. I believe this article is useful and should stay a part of Wikipedia. There are literally dozens of bibliographies in Wikipedia and I see no reason this particular one should be deleted. As a member of the fishing project I would hope you do as well.
