Hello. I'm a process engineer specializing in extractive metallurgy and currently living in Pasadena, California. I'm originally from Montana, and I've also lived in Colorado. I'm relatively new to Wikipedia editing, and I'm just getting started on some contributions. My technical interests are mainly extractive (and especially pyro-) metallurgy. I have a special interest in the history of mining and metallurgy in general. Most of my historical mining/metallurgical knowledge is related to copper mining and metallurgy in Southwest Montana (where I grew up).

[edit] Contributions I'm planning
As I said, I'm new to this...
I've started a re-write of Anaconda Smelter Stack. So far, I've cleaned up what was existing and added a little information and references. I'm still gathering more information to expand the article.
I've contributed to a major expansion of the general article Pyrometallurgy. This one is a pretty involved article, and Peterkingiron is helping out quite a bit, thankfully. Once we get this article fairly complete, I'd like to move on and contribute to some of the details on linked sub-categories of Calcination, Roasting (metallurgy), Smelting, and Refining (metallurgy). Then I'm also planning to get into pyrometallurgical equipment like Multiple hearth furnaces, Fluidized bed reactors, Rotary kilns, Shaft furnaces, etc.
[edit] Articles I started
- Speiss: Just a start, maybe someone will pick it up before I get around to expanding on it.
- Matte (metallurgy): Ditto.
[edit] Articles I watch
Anything to do with extractive metallurgy, pyrometallurgical equipment, Anaconda (the company and the city in Montana, not the species of snake), and a few other miscellaneous things.
