You block me and not another company called Adjusters International which is a sister company!!! What is your problem? There is no difference from A.I's link and mine.
Please unblock my account.
Thank you
Bryan Thomas
Public Insurance Adjusting
[edit] External links National Association of Public Insurance Adjusters Adjusters International <------------------------------------------- SAME PROFESSION DIFFERENT NAME, HOW AM I WRONG AND THEY ARE NOT?????????????????? Adjusting Today
- Hm, you do appear to edit the same articles/areas as User:Bet1973. But I am going to contact the blocking admin either way here to see of they can provide any more evidence. Tiptoety talk 00:22, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
This is my 1st and only account - Perhaps mistaken idenity, being our names and areas are similar...but not really. Its odd that my account gets banned but the same type company has the same type link and its allowed, thats really unfair. If you read Public Insurance Adjusting External Links, Adjusters Internation is the same as what I added in United States Adjusters - Explain that logic if you wouldn't mind.
Thank you,
Bryan
User:Bryanethomas Hey, this user requested a unblock stating that they have no connection to the account you say they are a sock of (dont they all). After reviewing their contribs they appear to be very close and strongly support your block. I was just wondering if there was anymore evidence or a WP:RFCU. Tiptoety talk 00:23, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
Listen, I am not a "sock" I have no idea what the deal is with adding a link to a site - If you want to block me for that I think I will live. I would appreciate a LEGITIMATE explaination though! This sock this is lame! 1st and only account, and most likely last if this is how people are delt with here for doing nothing!
My 0.2 - Thanks
- Like I have said before, I am contacting the blocking admin to get a better explanation. Now please, chill out. Tiptoety talk 00:38, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Unblock request, proof of similarity of accounts
You are requesting an unblock. I am declining that now, and here is my explanation of why I believe that these accounts are sock or meatpuppets of Bet1973. Note there are more accounts whose edits are very similar to the edits described here over the last couple of months.
- This account name implies you are Bryan E. Thomas, President of United States Adjusters. See this page. If not, this is a bad personification.
- In the recent past, a whole set of IPs and editors have added "*[http://www.articlerich.com/Article/Public-Insurance-Adjusters/225061 Public Adjusters: The Insurance Companies Best Kept Secret] - by Bryan Thomas, a freelance writer in Boca Raton, Florida."; the bottom of that article says ".. http://www.unitedstatesadjusters.com By, Bryan Thomas – President of United States Adjusters, Inc ..." (edits which at least seem promotional/spammy, there is hardly any content added by the accounts). For all the socks found example diffs: diff by Bet1973, diff by USadjusters, diff by Unitedstatesadjusters, diff by 76.108.66.252, diff by 76.108.44.199 (all promoting an article by you). When the link got blacklisted, the last IP (76.108.66.252) started with this edit (see diff), which was repeated by the last IP in the sockpuppet category (although this last IP actually also deleted a link to your article, this IP may be the only mistake in this category; a whois on the IP suggests it is in another range, I will move it to the suspected sockpuppet category). Then this edit by 76.108.44.199 tries to circumvent the blacklisting, by adding another link to your company, while you were adding this link, the former link is named on your unitedstatesadjusters.com site as a sister site.
- this permanent version of 76.108.44.199, one of the IPs in the sock-category, shows you actually use that IP. It also strongly suggests you have used that IP to add the links to a.o. articlerich.com, mentioned above.

- If you follow the COIBot link, you see that all links to articlerich were added by IPs/accounts in the sockpuppet categories.

- COIBot records, only added by 76.108.66.252; as shown above, you used that IP.
I could ask a checkuser to check which IPs are used by your and the two named accounts, but I think they will not even bother seen this outline of events (I have not even started to tag all possible accounts, if you see the edit history of Public Adjusters you see that there are many diffs where a link mentioning your name is added; I would call this long time abuse). Checkuser may however also show other accounts which we have missed in this process.
Moving forward: I am willing to unblock this account (or another admin can do that), when you can convince me that you are really here to improve wikipedia (adding content, etc.), without promoting your company or your articles. I hope this explains. --Dirk Beetstra T C 13:21, 29 May 2008 (UTC) (adapted --Dirk Beetstra T C 13:40, 29 May 2008 (UTC))
- Dirk, this user emailed unblock-en-l today from a gmail email address. I asked him to email me from a corporate or network email address and he then emailed me from an email address tied to the personal name and company he claims above but the domain given to me is @usa4help.com.
- I think if Bryan wants to be unblocked he needs to accept our policies and guidelines and he needs to start with reading WP:SPAM, WP:COI, and WP:CORP. Sarah 13:48, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
- Re Sarah. I did not see the unblock-en-l mail yet, will have a look shortly. the link http://usa4help.com does show the same site as http://unitedstatesadjusters.com. --Dirk Beetstra T C 14:01, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
- I know, I tried whoising it but I couldn't really understand what was going on with the site. Only the original email is on the mailiinglist, the rest only went to me, I think, but I can forward them to you if you like. Sarah 14:09, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
- Yep, I only saw the original one and your reply. You may want to forward to/include the list, also Jayron32 and Fisherqueen (both declined unblock requests) and Tiptoety may be interested, and I think I have to be open to review here. Seen the IP-range, maybe we should change the block-type here (not autoblocking the IPs he uses?). --Dirk Beetstra T C 14:12, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
- I have removed the autoblocking of the IPs, you seem to be on a large range of IPs. I hope that you understand that if there are questionable edits from IPs out of this range, they will be blocked. --Dirk Beetstra T C 14:21, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
- I have requested a checkuser, see Wikipedia:Requests_for_checkuser/Case/Bet1973. --Dirk Beetstra T C 14:46, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
- I received another email from this user. He says he doesn't have time to jump through hoops or defend himself against false accusations and we can just leave the account blocked as he doesn't really need a Wikipedia account anyway. Sarah 03:19, 30 May 2008 (UTC)
- As it looks, he just creates other accounts, or edits as an IP. He may want to know that continuing to create accounts (by him or other people in his company) and to advertise their company/people is not the way forward. --Dirk Beetstra T C 09:34, 30 May 2008 (UTC)
- Sadly, that would seem to be the case. I am going to protect from recreation the article he keeps trying to post about his company and when the version currently on AFD gets deleted, I think we should protect from recreation that name as well. It might be a good idea to blacklist his links, too, as that might help reduce the motivation for what he is doing. Sarah 06:57, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
