[edit] September 7th Edit
Edit by User:Emoll (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Bryan_Adams_High_School&diff=157403382&oldid=157387583) reverted previous edit and was noted as vandalism, but this was not the case. I highly doubt any alumni listed Retired Air Force graduated high school in 1983. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.90.16.2 (talk) 16:20, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
Hi. Thanks for your comments on James Rothenflue's graduation date from Bryan Adams High School. I know Jim and his (birth) family very well. They were our next door neighbors in Dallas. When they moved to Dallas in 1965, Jim was a baby. He was born in January of 1965. Jim was extremely bright and ambitious and earned three college degrees in short order, including a Ph.D. from the Air Force Institute of Technology in Ohio. He is a leading expert on propulsion systems and lasers. He entered the Air Force as an officer and moved up quickly through the upper-echelon ranks. I had known for a couple of years that he had been a colonel but learned only a few days ago that he had made general. He has moved to Huntsville, Alabama, to work at Lockheed, evidently having retired from the military. Maybe later on I'll put in some references (not all that hard to find on Google) if people are going to keep changing the date based on doubt.
I suspected vandalism because User 129.110.241.28, who originally changed "1983" to "1957," was an unregistered user whose talk page consisted solely of a warning for blanking a page. Perhaps it was a good faith edit, but if so it was uninformed and, in fact, erroneous. By your own admission your reversion to "1957" was based on "I highly doubt" and not on knowing specific contradictory information, so on what basis did you restore that specific graduation class year (1957)? Personally, when I see something that seems doubtful in a Wikipedia article, I try to do some research to find a definitive source that says otherwise, and precisely what different information should be in its place. If I can't specifically contradict it, I might express my doubt on the talk page. More likely, I'lI leave it alone.
By the way, BA opened in the fall of 1957 ("New Schools to Open in September" by Sue Connally, The Dallas Morning News, 31 March 1957). There was no class of 1957. The first graduating class was the class of 1959.
I'm putting this comment on both the Bryan Adams talk page and User 68.90.16.2 's page. Emoll 19:12, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
