Bryan Cooper

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Bryan Cooper (born 1976) is an American artist best known for his sculptures. Bryan Cooper changed his name to a one word version of his last name in 1993, he now spells his name in all capital letters as COOPER[1]. He lives and works in Miami, FL and Ribera, New Mexico and is represented by Fredric Snitzer Gallery, Miami and Dwight Hackett Projects, Santa Fe.

Bryan Cooper is known for coining the term sunshine noir to describe the Miami art scene in a Miami Herald article in [2005]. The term is a play on words describing the macabre nature of various artists' art in the brightly lit vacation destination. The term has become widely used by authors describing contemporary art in the region.[1]
