During the 1960s I was a civil rights worker with CORE and SCLC in Alabama, Mississippi, and California.
I am currently webspinner of the Civil Rights Movement Veterans historical website which documents the Southern Freedom Movement, collects and posts primary source material such as personal stories and interviews, movement-related poetry, and an extensive bibliography and list of web links. It also hosts discussions and analyses of the movement by those who were active in it, answers Frequently Asked Questions, provides original source documents, and is frequently used by schools and colleges as a research and education resource.
Later I was a student activist at San Francisco State College, then a freelance journalist in Asia covering Vietnam War matters, then a founding member and long-time national officer of the National Writers Union (NWU).
By profession I am a technical writer in Silicon Valley and am also the author of the science fiction novel "The Gandhi Ring."
