Bruce Willis is somewhat famous for saying "Yippie Kie Yay Motherfucker". Someone please tell me what movie thats from. Also maybe we should mention it in the article. Redwolf24 10:01, 13 July 2005 (UTC)

The line "Yippie Kie Yay Motherfucker" is from Die Hard. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0095016/quotes

[edit] Music

why is there no mention of his music[3] anywhere? --213.66.39.247 00:04, 1 September 2005 (UTC) G'day Bruce, didn't know were to send email. I was hoping you could consider refusing to use weapons in your acting. Watched an interview last year 2005 I think on Parkinson, thought you reminded me of a buddhist friend and I laughed at a serious moment.

Sorry the film and computer indusry has confused and me didn't think of using email to communicate to the "entertainment industory". I've been quite disruptive.

Supposed to be going to the Melbourne Horse Races today, yet left at the door, somebody suggested I forgot to take my/a hobbi horse.

Hope my use of my imagination is not causing to much psychic disturbance? best wishes Christina (not a fan, yet really enjoy some films)

[edit] Should we mention he's a Republican?

Should Bruce Willis's strong ties to the Republican party be mentioned?

  • Why not?

This article contradicts itself. Quoting Bruce Willis saying he's not a Republican, and in the Trivia it says he is a Republican.

  • Clearly he is trying to keep his career in liberal Hollywood.
    • "Clearly"? What? (SIGN YOUR POSTS.)Vordabois (talk) 07:16, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

I don't think anyone doubts that Willis is a Republican, however as he has said he isn't then we can't really include that.

"Frequently supports" would be better, as he supported the Republican presidential candidates in 1992 and 2000.

    • Zell Miller, the former Democratic governor and senator from GA spoke at the 2004 Republican Convention, but that doesn't make him a Republican, right? Niteshift36 (talk) 01:03, 29 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] My Little Pony

The trivia section had an entry saying "Is an avid collector of My Little Pony figurines." .. is this true ? any references ? sikander 02:13, 17 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Any reason why only military pictures are used?

US military pictures are public domain, and hence can be used on Wikipedia. I suspect it is difficult to find other free photographs. — Matt Crypto 14:52, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
There are lots of articles about actors where other photographs are used, usually propaganda photos from the actors themselves. Willis is cast into a wrong light if all photos are of this kind. --217.235.214.61
Find us a free (CC, GFDL or PD) photo of Willis in a different context, and we'll gladly use it. You're right that some other photos would be preferable here, but our priority is to write a free encyclopedia. — Matt Crypto 17:42, 9 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Nose Change?

I just caught a rerun of Moonlighting on late night cable, and it seemed to me that his nose was much straighter/more pointed than I remembered from more recent movies. Some pictures from <http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000246/> seem to show a difference in profile, but they're all publicity shots or movie posters. I've done some googling but come up with nothing. Has anyone else noticed any changes to the actor's nose, or am I just imagining things?

[edit] Military Discharge

It says he was discharged from the military in 1957. That can't be right... if he was, he would be two years old in the army. Jedibob5 12:19, 15 September 2006 (UTC)

  • Mabey thats why he was discharged :P
  • Okay, here it says "Date of birth | March 19, 1955 (age 51)" What the heck? Age 51? It looks like it is saying he was 51 when he was born. Jedibob5 01:19, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
Jedibob5, if you look at many of the biography pages, it lists the birthday and the (age) is the current age. If the bio is of a deceased person, then it does not have the age. Browse many of the bio's and you will see this. Hopefully most people will figure out that he's not 51 at birth, but that he is currently 51. See Helen Hunt, Amanda Peet, Jay Leno, Nancy Walls, Neal Boortz etc... Maniwar (talk) 13:46, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
Okay, thanks for clearing that up. but the question still stands. how could he have been discharged in '57 when he was born in '55??? Jedibob5 01:59, 6 November 2006 (UTC)
      • Bruce Willis' father was discharged from the military in 1957.4.88.154.250 05:03, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
Ah. Read it wrong. Jedibob5 01:13, 12 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Walter Bruce Ashton Willis?

This is the name that appears under the photo. Is the "Ashton" part real or is someone messing with the page? I haven't found support for that name in other documents.

I was wondering the same thing. ----Maniwar (talk) 03:23, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

I have tentatively deleted the word "Ashton." Please advise if this is actually part of his name--I found no proof that it is.

More confusion: in the intro it says he was born Walter Bruce, but in the Early Life section he was originally named Bruno? Lottie 09:28, 2 May 2007 (UTC)

Many sites on the web give his birth name as Walter Bruce Willison (eg http://movies.msn.com/celebs/celeb.aspx?c=84313 and http://movies.nytimes.com/person/76618/Bruce-Willis/biography) NevarMaor (talk) 15:56, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Bruce on miami vice

Miami Vice "No Exit"

[edit] Vandalism

Found vandalism. Deleted "He is a white. Bruce Willis is Homosexual from Birth"

A few other things:

  • It says Communist underneath the photo on the top of the page
  • what is this about my little pony's?
  • Fronted for the band "cunt-busters" it seems a bit silly, and there are no references.
  • Mentions that bruce willis took after his father and "became a giggolo" ????

Also it says that Bruce has come out as being gay, though i have seen no evidence of this.

I suggest we lock this page. The vandalism is annoying, Check out previous versions for proof.

[edit] JFK Conspiracy

Is this section even necessary? It seems like "Oh, Bruce Willis said something, lets put it up here." sono_ryuu_sochi 1:36, 9 May 2007 (MTZ)sono_ryuu_sochi yes its damm well manchurian candidate 11:11, 13 May 2007 (UTC)

Someone just asked about this on the article page. I did find this: "In this month's Vanity Fair, Willis divulges who JFK's real killer was -- and it's not Lee Harvey Oswald. "They still haven't caught the guy that killed [President] Kennedy. I'll get killed for saying this, but I'm pretty sure those guys are still in power, in some form. The entire government of the United States was co-opted. But, he adds, "I don't think my opinion means jack [bleep], because I'm an actor. Why do actors think their opinions mean more because you act?"Niteshift36 01:03, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
Big Bird, if you have a comment, fine. But you don't have to erase mine. This is the TALK section, where were can DISCUSS things. You need not edit everything out. I am NOT saying Willis is a conspiracy theorist etc. Just responding to the OP that the material I quoted was pretty much the extent of what I saw available.Niteshift36 16:19, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] GA nomination

I just nominated the article for GA, if anybody wants, take a look over the article and see if there are any errors in the article before it gets reviewed. --Nehrams2020 01:44, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

Wasn't he born in Germany, where his father was stationed? (There are no (and have never been any) American military bases in Sweden.)

Thanks for checking that. It must have been vandalized in the past and nobody caught it or somebody was looking off of a unreliable source. Anyway, I fixed it to what it says in one of his biographical sources. --Nehrams2020 17:18, 27 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] GA Pass

An excellent article that easily meets all the GA criteria. After wading through some of the articles on GA nomination trying to reduce the backlog it was a relief to come across one that was in great condition. Very little work to do on this article really - there's some slightly clumsy language in the lead paras that could do with being polished (eg beliefs -> belief, and "In motion pictures... his films" is redundant), but overall sails through the GA criteria, someone has put a lot of work into this article. I was impressed particularly with the density of citation as well as the neutral treatment of several potentially flammable issues. For the record I'm something of a snob and don't even like pop-culture articles and it still impressed me! - congrats. PocklingtonDan (talk) 11:30, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the quick review. I modified the intro somewhat as well. Good job to everyone who helped to contribute. --Nehrams2020 20:43, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Bruce Willis Woodstock parody

I recall seeing a clip of Bruce posing as lead singer cast in a band playing at the original Woodstock festival. It was done so well that I was able to convince several of my friends that he actually did, in fact, actually perform there. I have been unable to locate the clip since. Any help would be appreciated.68.198.252.99 17:17, 3 August 2007 (UTC)G.

[edit] Karen McDougal

I've read on an article that the name of the woman he was dating was Tamara Feldman, but I've also seen the same article saying it was Karen McDougal... That's the name I always assumed in the first place...70.55.114.188 09:09, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] More Vandalism?

Second para under "Early Life" it says:

"After graduating Penns Grove High School, Willis farmed sheep in a mining village in Alabama, transporting work crews at the DuPont Chambers Works factory in Deepwater, New Jersey."

While I don 't know whether he ever farmed sheep in Alabama, I DO know that the sentence doesn't make logical sense and is therefore likely to be one more little act of vandalism specifically designed to escape notice.

Before I or somebody changes it (and we'd have to go looking at old edits to even figure out what it's SUPPOSED to say) I thought I'd bring it up here...

--starfarmer 06:49, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

*******************************

Found it! It was the handiwork of 80.43.17.4 in the revision of 2007-02-03T20:27:59.Funny thing, the original vandalism was both ungrammatical and nonsensical. Subsequent users, rather than excising it altogether *instead* simply made it grammatically correct, allowing it to settle in for a nice winter's nap.

It is now fixed.

[edit] Conspiracy

The article says at the top that he is interested in "several conspiracy theories" yet the article only mentions one under "cospiracy theories" is there something missing? SGGH speak! 17:30, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

Being skeptical that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone doesn't necessarily constitute a conspiracy theory but an opinion. I think some wording should be changed if someone can't dig something up about conspiracy theories. If not, I think the possible mis-statements should be removed. Bigbird6 01:14, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

I think it does, but I'm not entirely sure on it, so who knows. I have a problem with this: "Organized religions in general, in my opinion, are dying forms", he says. "They were all very important when we didn't know why the sun moved, why weather changed, why hurricanes occurred, or volcanoes happened", he continues. "Modern religion is the end trail of modern mythology. But there are people who interpret the Bible literally. Literally!" he says incredulously. "I choose not to believe that's the way. And that's what makes America cool, you know?[28] Um... Isn't that called Christian Liberalism/Liberal Christianity/Liberation theology? I mean, he's never said that he wasn't Christian/Lutheran anymore, just simply that organised religion is pretty much a failure (which I can agree). I don't know, maybe I'm over thinking this. ¤IrønCrøw¤ (Speak to Me) 03:59, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
