I stumbled on this article a while back and am fascinated by the subject. Article is in dire need of citations however and I wouldn't know where to start looking for those, also seems to generate a lot of opinion edits (scan through the history to see what I mean) suggesting that the subject matter is still viewed by some as contentious.

Have endeavoured to restore some semblance of neutrality to the main sections and created a concluding section to deal with the matter of contemporary perspectives. Ideally need collaboration from someone with a greater knowledge of the field however, or even just pointers on where to start looking for source material/citations/references. As commented I'm fascinated by the subject so quite happy to do the leg work here, just need a little help in getting started. Would welcome full collaboration Splateagle (talk) 13:26, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

Hi I iam researching an essay on the social history of Glasgows mueums and publics. I seem to remember sometime in the 90's/00's a document was leaked explicitly saying that the slum clearances had been to make the city look better rather than improve the lives of its residents. did I imagine this or does anyone know what I am talking about. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Linsey

[edit] NPOV issues regarding "21st Century Perspectives" section

This section was written following an extensive clean-up of the article aimed at restoring neutrality to the main sections. It incorporates many of the 21st century responses and perspectives which had previously been muddying neutrality of the body of the article. The section attempts to present varying contemporary views and interpretations of the Report and its impact neutrally and objectively. Further work on improving this neutrality is required (at present only one person has edited it, so there is probably some bias in the text), however wholesale deletion of this section seems unwise. Given its impact on the shape of modern day Glasgow, an important aspect of any discussion of the Bruce Report should be the recognition and examination of contemporary perspectives.
