Good point. A 1990 "Anthropology Today" article lists his birth date as 1940, as does the Anthrobase link on this WP article. The only source I can find listing his birth as 1942 is de:Bruce Kapferer, so I suspect that's a mistake or a typo. I'm adding his staff page at U. Bergen, which has got his email address.
