Bruno de Almeida is a first generation Portuguese-American director and also a musician. He was born in Paris, France. Son of portuguese parents, he lived since his early childhood in Olivais, a distinct neighbourhood in the edge of Lisbon, Portugal. In 1985 he moved to New York City, United States where he integrated the band Graham Haynes & No Image and started regularly playing in the mythic Knitting Factory. In 1988 he started dedicating himself to cinema. Shortly after arriving in New York he became friends with actors Michael Imperioli, John Ventimiglia and Drena De Niro, who appeared on numerous projects that Bruno directed, including his most recent picture, The Lovebirds.
