Bruno Berner (born November 21, 1977) is a Swiss footballer, who is currently without a club, after being released by Blackburn Rovers.
He has spent most of his career playing for Grasshopper Zürich, SC Freiburg, and FC_Basel[2] .
Berner moved to Blackburn Rovers for a nominal fee from FC Basel on January 30, 2007.[3] He was given the squad number 25.
On February 10, 2007 he played his first Premiership match for Blackburn, in a 1-0 defeat to Everton. He made his second start against Manchester City on December 27, 2007. [4] He has since been released on may 19, 2008, along with fellow Switzerland defender Stephane Henchoz. He played for Switzerland national football team and was a participant at the 2004 UEFA European Championship.[5]
