Brune Park Community College (previously Brune Park Community School and Brune Park Secondary School) is located on Military Road, Gosport, Hampshire. It is a secondary school and Arts College.

[edit] History

The school was opened at its current location in 1965 and amalgamated the existing Central School with the Grove Boys' and Girls' Secondary Modern Schools. It has offered a Sixth Form facility alongside the standard Secondary facility but this was removed in 1987 with the Sixth Form facilities being provided by St Vincent College and Fareham College.

The name comes from the Prideaux-Brune family who donated the land on which the school is built to the Local Education Authority for the purpose of establishing a school. The crest is based on the Prideaux-Brune coat-of-arms and the motto is Toujours Prêt, Always Ready.

The school has a P.I.R (Pupil Information Record) system. This system consists of positive and negative P.I.R's, a positive P.I.R will be given to a student that has created an exceptional piece of work, shown vast knowledge in a certain subject has put a lot of effort into their studys or exceeding in anything else that will have a positive impact on their school records. A negative P.I.R will be issued to student that either repeatedly disobeys instructions from a teacher, fails to complete or even attempt a task set by a teacher, disrupts a class in general, caught using vulgar language towards another pupil or a teacher, or doing anything bad enough to have a negative impact on their school records. More serious measures will taken against a student that has committed a very serious offence.

[edit] Notable alumni

Famous people such as Keith Allen (AKA Fat Les), Marcus Patric (AKA Ben from Hollyoaks) and Paul Charman (multi-millioniare entrepreneur) all attended this school.
