The Bruckner Interchange is a complex interchange at the intersection of the Bruckner Expressway, Cross Bronx Expressway, Whitestone Expressway, and Hutchinson River Parkway in the New York City borough of the Bronx, United States. It was constructed in the 1960s.
Interstate 95 passes through the interchange, in the process changing its designation from the Cross Bronx Expressway in the south to the Bruckner Expressway in the north. Interstate 295, Interstate 278 and Interstate 678 all end at this interchange. Interstate 95's designation as the Cross Bronx Expressway is transferred to Interstate 295, Interstate 278's designation as the Bruckner Expressway is transferred to Interstate 95, and Interstate 678 becomes the Hutchinson River Parkway.
The interchange is the southernmost of the three times the Hutchinson River Parkway crosses I-95.
This interchange is not complete--that is, not every pair of highways has freeway-standard interchanges in both directions between them. However, such omissions are either remedied elsewhere or considered unnecessary under the circumstances:
- To travel from I-95 North to I-278 West (and vice versa), use I-895 (Sheridan Expressway).
- To travel from I-295 North to I-95 North (and vice versa), use I-695 (Throgs Neck Expressway).
- I-678 and I-295 aren't directly linked at the interchange because each services one of the major Bronx-Queens bridges (the Bronx Whitestone Bridge and the Throgs Neck Bridge, respectively), both of which are only a short distance to the south. In Queens, they're connected by I-495, the Long Island Expressway.
