Bruce Whalen

Bruce Whalen was the Republican candidate for U.S. Congress in South Dakota's at-large congressional district challenging incumbent Democrat Stephanie Herseth in the November 2006 mid-term election.

Whalen received a Bachelor’s degree in human services from Oglala Lakota College. He served as the first Chairman of the Shannon County Republican Party, and was the Native American Outreach Coordinator for the South Dakota Republican Party. Whalen is a member of the Oglala Sioux Tribe.
