Bruce Tanner

Bruce Matthew Tanner (born December 9, 1961 in New Castle, Pennsylvania) is a former Major League Baseball pitcher and coach.
Tanner played one season for the Chicago White Sox in 1985, appearing in 10 games and starting 4 of them. He was credited with one win, two losses, and a 5.35 ERA. He also pitched for several years in the minor leagues.
After retiring as a player, he spent the 1990s as a minor league pitching coach for several teams before becoming the bullpen coach for the Pittsburgh Pirates before the 2001 season, a position he held through the 2005 season. In 2006, he served as Pitching Coach for the Williamsport Crosscutters, one of the Pirates' minor league affiliates. In 2007 he took a job as the Detroit Tigers advance scout.
Bruce Tanner is the son of Chuck Tanner, who played parts of eight seasons in tmajor league baseball (1955-1962) and managed for 19 years (1970-1988).
