Bruce Summerhays

Bruce Patton Summerhays (born February 14, 1944) is an American golfer.
Summerhays was born in St. Louis, Missouri. He attended the University of Utah and turned pro in 1966. He spent his regular (under 50) career competing in mainly local events, but as a senior he has competed successfully on the elite Champions Tour. He has won three Champions Tour events and won over 8 million dollars as of March 2006.[1]. Summerhays' daughter, Carrie, was an All-American golfer at Brigham Young University and played on the LPGA Tour. Bruce is involved in golf course design and is scheduled to have Sonterra Golf Club, near St. George, UT open in early 2008.
Summerhays is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and says his favorite books are the Book of Mormon and the Bible.[2]. Bruce and his wife, Carolyn, are the parents of 8 children and currently have 30 grandchildren.
