Bruce M. King

In 1978 Bruce King received a Ph.D. in biopsychology from the University of Chicago. Since 1981 he has taught human sexuality to over 40,000 students at the University of New Orleans. King has written the textbook Human Sexuality Today which is used in classrooms nationwide. King has conducted countless numbers of human sexuality workshops for physicians, public schools, teachers, staff members working with the mentally retarded and parental groups. King has also co-authored a textbook on statistics and published over 60 papers on the biological basis of feeding behavior and obesity.

Nicknamed "The Sex Doctor", King is still presently teaching Human Sexual Behavior at the University of New Orleans. Known mostly as "Sex Class" it is not only the most popular class to take at UNO but the class that holds the record of the most enrollment and most taken. In addition to "Sex Class", King also teaches sections of statics. King is a Fellow in the Association for Psychological Science and is an honorary member of the Golden Key National Honor Society for excellence in teaching.
