Bruce LaFrance was born in Bay City, Michigan. A veteran of the Detroit music scene. LaFrance toured the mid-west with many bands some coming close to achieving success. In 2005, when Tantric bassist Jesse Vest had left the band to spend time with his family, LaFrance was suggested as a replacement.
In January, 2006 LaFrance traveled with Tantric and hard rock group Drowning Pool to Seoul, South Korea to play several shows for U.S. troops currently stationed along the Korean Demilitarized Zone. Highly appreciative of this, the troops gave members of the band a plaque with actual barbed wire from the 38th parallel barrier.
In March, 2006, Tantric parted ways with Maverick Records, and in May 2007 Bruce left Tantric to form Interchange[1] with original Tantric/Days of the New guitarist Todd Whitener. LaFrance had also been working with Louisville based band Nova Red[2] since October 2005. This relationship forming after a chance meeting between rehearsals for Tantric's Korean tour. Nova Red[3] released their first album produced by Malcalm Springer[4] in October 2007. As of early 2008 LaFrance is still recording and performing with both Interchange[5] and Nova Red[6].
