Bruce Benson is a commercial fisherman and politician in Manitoba, Canada. In the federal election of 2004, he ran as a Liberal in the riding of Selkirk—Interlake.
Benson was born in Arborg, Manitoba, and has lived in Iceland, Australia and California. He works as a fisherman on Lake Winnipeg, and has given presentations on the fishing industry at the University of Manitoba. Benson is also a land developer. Shortly before the 2004 election, he was named Chairman of the National Harbour Authority Advisory Council.
Benson finished third in Selkirk--Interlake, behind James Bezan of the Conservatives and Duane Nicol of the NDP. He received 9059 votes, or 22.85% of the total.
