what is this place anyway?
Welcome!
Hello, BrokenGlass, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:
- The five pillars of Wikipedia
- How to edit a page
- Help pages
- Tutorial
- How to write a great article
- Manual of Style
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}}
on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome! Babajobu 04:54, 12 November 2005 (UTC) (p.s. So no more changing articles to greeting to little Timmy!!;) )
lolz, don't worry, you did put it back to its original form, that's why I tried to give you a {wink} emoticon...it was clear you were just experimenting and you cleaned it up, so no big deal. Anyway, enjoy, Wikipedia's a wicked good place if you like learning. Babajobu 04:59, 12 November 2005 (UTC)
- Just click here: Wikipedia:How to edit a page. Underlined words are links, so you can just click on the links above, which will provide just about all the information about Wikipedia you need. Babajobu 05:01, 12 November 2005 (UTC)

- Believe it or not the name is Baba! Yeah, there is a lot to read, and it goes ever deeper. Wikipedia has thousands of very regular users who have created a very elaborate social structure to assist in the project's goal, which is to create the best encyclopedia in the world, which also happens to be free. But take it slow, the "how to edit a page" link is a good start, if you do want to edit, and you will learn as you go. Feel free to contact me with any questions you have. Here's lesson one, though. After each of your messages (not in an article, but when you're talking to someone on a talk page), put for tildes, like this: ~~~~ . This will put your name and date there so that they know who has left the message. Anyway, as I say, don't hesitate to get in touch. Babajobu 05:11, 12 November 2005 (UTC)
