This page should contain information on brown rot fungi in general (see for example dry rot). The term brown rot is far wider than infections of Monilinia fructicola. So is "squishy" considered an encyclopedic term around here? If so, that's awesome, but it's hard to believe. :-P Answers.com defines squishy as "Soft and wet; spongy." [1] Can anyone with experience handling infected fruit give a more clear description? -AndromedaRoach 23:18, 27 May 2007 (UTC)
