[edit] Request to remove sportsperson tag/category
I'm not aware of him being a notable person involved in sports, any objections to removing this? He's popular mainly because of his writing, not sports, as far as I know. Tyciol 05:47, 19 March 2006 (UTC) I think he's bench press champion of america or something? Dont deleate this page.
[edit] Contested speedy deletion
When this article was previously deleted (see Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Brooks_Kubik), the nomination said "This is almost certainly a self-authored page, and while that does not disqualify it for inclusion, the subject lacks notability."
There was nothing to suggest that Kubik had contributed to the page. Also, the claim that Kubik lacks notability was rather uninformed, as he is fairly well known for his writing in strength-training circles. His book Dinosaur Training, though I believe now out of print, is listed on Amazon.com:

[edit] Wikipedia:Deletion review
Has this page been vetted here? Until it is, a speedy delete is correct. San Saba 12:08, 19 May 2006 (UTC)
- It has now. I believe the original AfD was in bad faith. He would seem to meet the standard of notability given at Wikipedia:Notability (people) -
- Published authors, editors, and photographers who have written books with an audience of 5,000 or more or in periodicals with a circulation of 5,000 or more
- It would seem the the original AfD was made in bad faith, or at best, without investigating the subject. Dsreyn 16:34, 19 May 2006 (UTC)

- Hey, I have no problem at all with the Deletion Review. More power to you. I just want to make sure that the process is followed through. If someone circumvents the process then the next person will claim it as precedence when they try to circumvent the process. You know the old bit about the “slippery slope” ….sorry for being AnRt, but sometimes I feel it’s required on my part. Take care, San Saba 06:42, 20 May 2006 (UTC)
