[edit] Delete for reposted content?

Someone put up a deletion tag on this page for "reposted content" for some reason, the page was made from scrach, the deleted content isn't even available to non-administrators apparently, which makes "reposting" very difficult :)

In any case, is there a real reason this page should be deleted? --Fxer 23:20, 30 November 2005 (UTC)

Yes, for the same reason it was deleted in the first place, murder victims are not inherently encyclopedic and it does not appear that her death has caused anything notable to occur as a result. Anyway, I've gone ahead and sent this to AfD. By the way, I thought people weren't supposed to remove speedy tags from articles they have created. Caerwine 00:46, 1 December 2005 (UTC)
I'd say she's definitely very notable in the Pacific Northwest, and one of the most high profile cases in Oregon in the last decade. Over a year after her disappearance you could still see her picture on city buses and missing person flyers throughout town. People seemed to be pretty conscious of her disappearance as far away as Seattle. Although I'd agree her murder itself isn't notable, I believe there was a degree of notability to the case, whether it was deserved or not. Also, it should be noted that the original VfD count seemed to emphasize the bias and lack of quality in the article. I rewrote it at a later time so as to be more encyclopedic, but it was speedied (per the fact the article had been deleted before). My suggestion would be to restore the older edits, and merge that version with the current version, and then if someone likes they can put it up for deletion again. Sometimes AfD votes aren't against the topic of the article itself, but because of a combination of mediocre notability and a poor quality article. Sarge Baldy 01:03, 1 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Articles for Deletion debate

This article survived an Articles for Deletion debate. The discussion can be found here. -Splashtalk 01:55, 7 December 2005 (UTC)

That's actually a link to the first AfD debate which was delete. The second one which was no consensus is Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Brooke_Wilberger_(2nd_nomination). Tyrenius 15:20, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Myspace hoax?

This sentence has been in the article here for awhile, but I couldn't find any refs for it, so I put it here for the moment. I'm not sure this is even important enough to merit being on the page. --Fxer 20:29, 29 August 2007 (UTC)

In Fall 2004, Wilberger was falsely impersonated on the MySpace website. The perpetrator of the hoax claimed that she had been found and was interested in dating again. The profile was quickly taken down, either by MySpace or by the individual involved.
