[edit] Permissions for the image
The transcript of the permission request and the declaration of consent for the image used in this article has been forwarded to the OTRS. --Godfoster 06:22, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
- Wow, good work there! Are you saying you just wrote to AVN and they agreed to put the image under Creative Commons? Impressive. Do you think they'll be willing to do the same to other images? Any advice on whom to ask or how? --AnonEMouse (squeak) 14:43, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, that's pretty much what I did. I wrote to the author of the article that the image I wanted was in, and he agreed to release it to Wikipedia. Upon realizing that I needed to get him to release it under a free license, I wrote him back with an explanation of what Wikipedia required and an attached Declaration of Consent. He sent it back within a day with no problems. I can't say that all attempts to get images released under free licenses will be this easy, but AVN's images are already online and available for free viewing, so why not allow them to be distributed more freely? In Miss Ballowe's case, it's more sympathetic because I could have said, "It would be a great addition to the article if people could see this woman who has been fighting AIDS for nine years." though I didn't actually mention it to AVN.
- Anyways, my advice on who to contact for images found in online articles is the author of that article. Usually they should know the person who has the rights to the image. In my case, the author was the one who had the rights, so the process was expedited. Also, this goes without saying, but be polite and be clear on what you are asking them. Remind them that you will answer any questions that they might have. More information on my case can be found here. --Godfoster 17:28, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Irrelevant information?
I do not believe that the following information is relevant to this article:
This record was broken in 2004 by Victoria Givens where she engaged in anal intercourse with 101 people.
Are there any opinions on this? I vote that it be removed, or rephrased in a way that does not detract from the fact that this article is about Miss Ballowe and not Miss Givens. I will take action if no comments are received within seven days. --Godfoster 06:24, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
- OK to remove by me. --AnonEMouse (squeak) 14:39, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
I temporarily placed the text in question in parantheses since I could not figure out a way to get rid of it while keeping the article's flow as smooth as possible. Also, AVN's site has been redone, so none of the sources are able to be checked at this time. --Godfoster 04:21, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Update On Her Court Case?
What happened to the worker's comp suit she brought up against Hard Core Television and K-Beech Video Inc. I find it strange that there's no updated information on what could potentially be a landmark case. Even if there hasn't been a ruling as of yet, I think it's important that some information regarding her lawsuit be present in her wikipedia entry. Grave architecture 04:33, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
- We need a verifiable source - newspaper article, for example, not just a blog or forum. If you can cite a source like that ...

- Last I heard of this was an article on AVN in late July, which can be read here. (Link is not a direct link to the AVN article; AVN redid their site and it looks like they broke all the in-bound links as well as the site's own search function). Tabercil 16:50, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
- Here's a direct link to the article in question. Why not e-mail AVN and ask for more information if you're looking for it? That's what I did for the picture in the article. --Godfoster 03:15, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
