I do not recollect the Broad Left involving any element of the Liberal Party. The Broad Left was followed by the Left Alliance which did include Liberal Party members - it was formed at a conference just after the May 1979 general election and I believe Dave Aaronovitch was elected as Left Alliance not Broad Left.

I think that the unknown author of the above comment is correct - the Left Alliance followed the Broad Left. It did not include NOLS (national organisation of labour students) members, but was basically a group of Liberals, CPGB and independents. It collapsed sometime towards the end of the 80s 38presdales 21:11, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
