Brown Mackie College – Northern Kentucky in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky, is a member of the Brown Mackie College system of schools, a collection of private, for-profit educational institutions for career preparation in the business, legal, health sciences, information technology, and creative fields. The Brown Mackie College system of schools has 18 locations in eight states throughout the Midwestern, southeastern, and southwestern United States, and has a total enrollment of 9,078 students (as of fall 2006). The Brown Mackie College schools are owned by Education Management Corporation, based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Brown Mackie College schools provide bachelor’s degree, associate’s degree, diploma, and certificate programs.

In May 1981, Brown Mackie College - Cincinnati opened a branch campus in Northern Kentucky. Brown Mackie College — Cincinnati was founded in Cincinnati, Ohio, in February 1927 as Southern Ohio Business College, a traditional business college. In 1964, the College was granted accreditation as a business school by the Association of Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS), and as a junior college of business by ACICS in 1972. In 1986, Brown Mackie College — Northern Kentucky moved to its current location in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky.

Brown Mackie College — Northern Kentucky is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS) to award associate’s degrees, certificates, and diplomas.
