[edit] History

Brown Mackie College – Kansas City is a branch of Brown Mackie College - Salina, which was founded and approved by the Board of Trustees of Kansas Wesleyan College in 1892. The trustees contracted with Professor T.W. Roach to organize the Commercial Department, which was then known as The Kansas Wesleyan School of Business.

In 1938, the college that would become Brown Mackie College - Salina was incorporated as The Brown Mackie School of Business under the ownership of Perry E. Brown and A.B. Mackie, former instructors at Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina, Kansas. By January 1975, with improvements in curricula and higher degree-granting status, The Brown Mackie School of Business became Brown Mackie College.
