Brown Mackie College – Cincinnati in Cincinnati, Ohio, is a member of the Brown Mackie College system of schools, a collection of private, for-profit educational institutions for career preparation in the business, legal, health sciences, information technology, and creative fields. The Brown Mackie College system of schools has 18 locations in eight states throughout the Midwestern, southeastern, and southwestern United States, and has a total enrollment of 9,078 students (as of fall 2006). The Brown Mackie College schools are owned by Education Management Corporation, based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Brown Mackie College schools provide bachelor’s degree, associate’s degree, diploma, and certificate programs.
Brown Mackie College — Cincinnati has the following branches: Brown Mackie College - Akron, Brown Mackie College - Northern Kentucky (Fort Mitchell, Kentucky), Brown Mackie College - Fort Wayne, and Brown Mackie College - Miami.

Brown Mackie College — Cincinnati was formerly known as American Education Center (AEC) Southern Ohio College – Cincinnati.
The school has a long history of offering career education and training, going back to its establishment as a traditional business college in 1927. In 2003, the parent corporation of AEC Southern Ohio College was acquired by Education Management Corporation.

In 1980, the college added a branch campus in Akron, Ohio.
Accreditation
Brown Mackie College — Cincinnati is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS) to award associate’s degrees and diplomas. ACICS is listed as a nationally recognized accrediting agency by the United States Department of Education. Its accreditation of degree-granting institutions also is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
Brown Mackie College — Cincinnati is licensed by the Ohio State Board of Career Colleges & Schools. Brown Mackie College — Cincinnati is fully accredited by the Indiana Commission on Proprietary Education.
