Brown Carpathian (cattle)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Brown Carpathian (Russian: Бypaя кapпaтськaя, Buraya karpats'kaya) is a dual purpose breed of cattle from Ukraine. Found in the Trans-Carpathian region of Ukraine the breed is the result of crossing Brown Swiss onto the local cattle to produce a dual purpose breed for dairy and beef production[1]. Jersey bulls have been used to increase milk fat levels.
