Broughton, Oxfordshire

Broughton is a village and civil parish in the Cherwell district of Oxfordshire, England. According to the 2001 census it had a population of 305. The village is situated about 2½ miles south-west of Banbury, the local market town. The nearby historic site, Broughton Castle, the fourteenth- to sixteenth-century seat of Baron Saye and Sele, representing the Fiennes family, has been used as a film location, and is famous for such movies as Shakespeare in Love and Three Men and a Little Lady, whilst the titles of Noel's House Party were also filmed at Broughton Castle.
