Broomfield Park is the former home of Airdrieonians Football Club. The ground was sold to supermarket chain Safeway and demolished in 1994. Airdrieonians went on to play at the Shyberry Excelsior Stadium until they were liquidated in 2002, and reformed as Airdrie United F.C., who took their place at the stadium.
