Brookfield is a Canadian rural community located in southern Colchester County, Nova Scotia, Canada. Brookfield is a growing community in the heart of Nova Scotia, just forty minutes from the provincial capital of Halifax. With a population of just over 1200 it has all the benefits of a small town while also having easy access to big-city amenities. Brookfield is a community with a great sense of pride, where neighbors know each other's names and take care of each other.

Surrounded by farming areas, Brookfield is located along Highway 102 and Trunk 2.

[edit] The Brookfield Elks Junior B Hockey Team

The Brookfield Elks organization started operations and entered a team in the Nova Scotia Jr. B Hockey League for the 1995/1996 season. At that point in time they were known as the Colchester Titans. The following season they had a minor name change to the Colchester Eagles. In the 1997/1998 season the team changed its name to the current name - Brookfield Elks. [1]

The Brookfield Elks make their home the Don Henderson Memorial Arena in Brookfield, Nova Scotia.

[edit] 1980 Brookfield Elks Senior ‘A’ Softball Team

The Brookfield Elks Senior ‘A’ Softball team realized a long sought-after dream in 1980 when they became the first team east of Ontario to capture the national crown. The year marked their fourth straight Nova Scotia Championship and their fourth straight trip to Nationals. [2]
