Coordinates: Brogdale is a hamlet in Kent, England, located beside the M2 motorway two miles south of Faversham. It is one of several hamlets making up the civil parish of Ospringe and is in the local government district of Swale. On August 10, 2003, a temperature of 38.5°C was recorded in Brogdale, the highest temperature on record in the United Kingdom Met Office article.
Brogdale Farm is the location of the National Fruit Collections, and has over 2000 varieties of apples, over 500 varieties of pears and hundreds of other fruit trees, bushes and vines growing within the grounds. Guided tours available mid-March to end November, shops and tearooms open all year round (7 days a week March to Christmas, closed Mondays January to March).
The Friends of the Brogdale Collections also identify varieties of fruit sent to them, and sells a wide variety of fruit trees and bushes from its Plant Centre.
Brogdale is in the UK Weather Records for the highest recorded temperature of 38.5°C on 10 August 2003.
