Brockton Preparatory School is an independent, co-educational school located in the Lynn Valley neighbourhood of North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. It comprises both a Junior and a Middle School, with students from Kindergarten to grade 5 and grades 6 to 10 respectively.

Brockton School is a member of the International Baccalaureate Organization. It received authorization for the Primary Years Programme (PYP) in April 2008 and is a candidate school for the Middle Years Programme (MYP). It is the only IB World School in North Vancouver. Brockton is accredited by the Ministry of Education of British Columbia and is a member of the Federation of Independent School Associations of British Columbia.
[edit] Extra-Curricular Programme
Brockton provides a range of extra-curricular activities for all grades. The programme is divided into 4 blocks of eight weeks each. Activities occur both during lunch and after school. All students are encouraged to participate in at least one activity per session.
Athletics: Cross-country running, Basketball, Floor hockey, Soccer, Badminton, Triathlon
Arts: String ensemble, Hand-bell choir, Craft club, Theatrical Makeup
Outdoor Education: Kayaking, Cross-country skiing, Mountain biking, Rock climbing
[edit] Outdoor School
All Brockton students from Grade 4 onwards participate in the Outdoor School programme. These are residential camps held at various sites in BC such as Keats Island, Sunshine Coast, Powell River, and Manning Park. These programmes enhance students’ outdoor skills by taking part in activities such as canoeing, camping, snowshoeing as well as their environmental awareness.
[edit] Outreach Programme
Brockton’s annual Outreach Day is held every Valentine’s Day. Primary students participate in events at the school in support of Hill Land School, Uganda. Senior students perform community service at different locations in North Vancouver.
Throughout the year, students particpate in various fund-raising activities including bottle drives, penny drives etc. In 2007, Brockton students raised over 1100 dollars for the North Shore Hospice Society.

The student body is broken down into three house teams as follows:
• Monashee i(White)
• Tantalus (Red)
• Cheakamus (black)
Inter-house competitions are held throughout the school year which give students a chance to earn points for their house. Past competitions have included pumpkin carving, a volleyball tournament and building a free-standing structure from newspaper. The major house competition is Sports Day held in June.
Students can also earn points for their house on an individual basis, for example, by bringing a trash-free lunch.
The winning house at the end of the school year is awarded the Inter-House Cup.
